Is your workflow RIPE for AI?
RIPE is how we assess which workflows are ready for AI automation. It turns the idea into four quantifiable pillars we use in client workshops.
Routine & Redundant
Predictable workflows that still need semantic understanding — first-pass drafting, synthesising customer logs, extracting details from legal clauses.
Inefficient & Bottlenecked
Internal operations where people act as manual data bridges or spend hours reading text to find details, slowing downstream delivery.
Primed, Unstructured Data
Data that is digital and accessible (APIs, markdown, shared drives, PDFs) but not yet parsed. No massive database integration needed — AI can ingest it out of the box.
Low Exposure
Low-risk tasks behind a human-in-the-loop boundary: AI does the heavy lifting, a person reviews the output, neutralising hallucination risk.
If the bottleneck is unstructured, messy, judgment-heavy data that is ready to use, that is a strong signal the opportunity suits AI automation.
RIPE is a targeting criterion, not a universal claim about where AI helps.
